EDUCATION TO ALL
Education to All is one of the most important mottos of Sri Sivananda Balalaya (SSB). In a world where children and their parents are screened before giving admission, here is a school which believes that education is a right to every child and they should not be discriminated either by class, creed, religion, capability or intelligence.
Every child deserves to come to school and learn and SSB holds this thought very sacred to their being. The school boasts of more than 100 Differently Abled Children as part of Inclusive Education. Every child is imparted education based on their learning capabilities. No child is ever turned back saying that he / she has no place in the school.
The school being a CBSE school also has Open Basic Education (OBE) affiliation for the slow learners. Children are given a 100%. Stress Free Education till 4th class and then on children are allowed to pick up any of their choice subjects either through CBSE or OBE including Vocational Subjects. They are then groomed to blossom till Xth and then on to XIIth.
True their motto the school is also exploring to bring in the School Dropouts and Transgender into education, thereby ensuring no one is left out of our education system. School drop-outs can be enrolled in Open Basic Education (OBE) till 8th and can complete their 10th and 12th through NIOS or State Board syllabus. For transgender, we allot classes once or twice a week to complete their schooling through NIOS Board without any difficulty. Academic is not only a place for children to learn, there is more in school life. Each student in Balalaya learns to be strong and learns how to face the world boldly, here self-confidence plays a great role.
Differently Abled Children who complete their VIII class but cannot go on to do board exams either through State Board / CBSE / NIOS are given two years of Vocational Training in Hard Skills and Soft Skills like Plastic Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Paper Plate Making, Envelope Making, Cup Making, Xeroxing, Lamination, Mat Making, Screen Printing, Tailoring and Basic Agriculture.
Learning Life Skills at formative years goes a long way for these children to be self employed and self sustaining.
